Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met in Jerusalem with Board of Peace Director-General Nickolay Mladenov and officials as President Trump’s Gaza initiative moved into its implementation phase.
The talks focused on disarming Hamas and other armed groups, dismantling tunnel infrastructure, transferring authority to civilian governance and establishing security arrangements intended to protect both Israelis and Palestinians.
The Board described the meeting as constructive and said Israel and the organization share the final objective: the complete removal of weapons from Gaza and an end to rule by armed factions.
It also clarified that the IDF would withdraw beyond the Yellow Line only after Hamas fulfills its commitment to surrender all light and heavy weapons and dismantle its tunnel network. Compliance would be monitored by the International Stabilization Force and an Implementation Verification Committee involving the United States and the Board of Peace.
Mladenov warned that progress would not be dramatic or immediate, describing the next stage as slow, technical and difficult.
The Board also rejected claims that the framework weakens Israel’s security requirements, insisting that withdrawal remains directly tied to full demilitarization. Officials said the immediate priority is implementation, removing Hamas from power and creating a stable civilian administration in Gaza.
