Three suspects in their 20s were arrested in Ashkelon after police stopped their vehicle during a proactive anti-crime operation.
A search uncovered an airsoft pistol, matching ammunition, face masks and gloves inside a bag. Officers also found a machete, fighting knife, hammer, taser and several mobile phones in the vehicle.
The suspects, all from southern Israel, were taken for questioning, while the vehicle was seized for further investigation.
Ashkelon Police Deputy Commander Doron Sasson said officers would continue using intelligence-led operations to prevent violent crime, remove weapons from public spaces and protect residents throughout Ashkelon and nearby southern communities today.
