Israeli forces completed a large-scale operation in Beit Ummar, arresting suspects and seizing weapons amid concerns that escalating clan violence could threaten nearby Israeli communities.

The IDF, Border Police and Shin Bet searched more than 170 locations across the village during the 24-hour operation in the Etzion Brigade sector. Authorities said the raid focused on disrupting terrorist activity, locating illegal weapons and detaining individuals connected to recent armed violence.

The operation followed Wednesday’s arrest of 33 suspects by the Gideon Unit. According to a joint statement from Israeli security agencies, those detained were suspected of using firearms during an ongoing clan conflict inside the village.

Security officials said repeated gunfire had recently originated from Beit Ummar. Investigators are examining whether weapons used in the internal conflict could eventually be directed toward surrounding Israeli communities.

Israeli forces said the operation was intended to prevent that threat from developing while restoring security throughout the area.
